For Rotating Residential Proxies and Rotating Datacenter Proxies, bandwidth usage is calculated based on the total data transferred through our gateway.
Total Usage = Upload (Request Data) + Download (Response Data)
Breakdown of Calculation:
- Upload: This includes all data sent from your client/scraper to the target server, such as HTTP request headers, cookies, POST parameters, and payload data.
- Download: This includes all data returned from the target website to your client, such as HTML source code, JSON objects, images, CSS, and JavaScript files.
Both directions of the data stream are aggregated and deducted from your Data Plan balance.
Key Technical Considerations:
- Payload Size: Larger response bodies (e.g., high-resolution images, video assets, or heavy HTML files) will consume more bandwidth than lightweight JSON or text-based API responses.
- Request Frequency: High-concurrency scraping or high-frequency polling will rapidly increase overall consumption.
- Optimization Tip: To maximize your Pay-as-you-go balance, we recommend using efficient request designs—such as blocking unnecessary resources (images/CSS) and utilizing optimized headers—to minimize redundant data transfer.
- Protocol Overhead: Please note that both HTTP and SOCKS5 protocol overhead is minimal but included in the total data calculation.
Monitoring Your Balance
You can track your real-time consumption and remaining bandwidth for both Rotating Residential Proxies and Rotating Datacenter Proxies within the ScrapingBypass Management Console. All purchased bandwidth follows our "Never Expires" policy, remaining available until fully consumed.
